What is this place…
Among the many famous Einstein quotations is this: Imagination is more important than knowledge. Everyone has heard it. But what follows contains the crux:
Imagination is more important than knowledge. For while knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create.
My world is kind of like that, and this is an extension of that world. This is a place for my students, their parents, and my colleagues.
Hello! I am Mr. Buracas, and I teach science, robotics, and digital photography here at David Thompson School. Calgary, Alberta for those of you who don’t have kids here.
For those of you who do, then this place is for you. This Web page is my link to both my students and their parents.
For my students, this is the place to get updates about coursework, and to find out what’s happening in science (or information technology or robotics or photography) class. You’ll also find interesting tidbits about pretty much anything that grabs my interest, posted in the blog portion of this site.
For parents, you might be interested in what your students are doing in my class. If you click on course buttons at the top of this page, you will find every bit of information that I provide to my students, including course outlines and tasks and assignments.
To my colleagues, I offer this: I have been involved with information technology for over 20 years. I blog (on various sites), am a professional photographer, curriculum developer (again, online), and even throw my home videos up on the InterTubz. I know a little bit about this business. If you want a hand getting online or figuring some of this stuff out, feel free to drop me a line. mister.buracas @ gmail.com
I look forward to hearing from you!
