Evidence and Investigation

This topic deals with how science and scientists are used to solve crimes. Skills involved include identifying and gathering evidence, evaluating and comparing the evidence with known values and benchmarks, and drawing logical conclusions (finding the culprit) based on the evidence.

  • Worksheet – key vocabulary (this is a hard copy handout, with no electronic version)
  • Activity 1 - CSI Squeak Sneak (with Ruff Ruffman, from the PBS show Fetch!) – in this introductory activity, students will try to solve a crime using basic investigative skills.
